Ligia Brigones who helps women in Nicaragua stand up
for their rights says, "when we are alone we are afraid, but we are
stronger together... we help each other."
We have the strong trunk of the vine, Jesus, sharing God's word to encourage
us, to nurture us, the branches to stay connected to the source of life.
God the gardener encourages us to prune our lives of 'the stuff' that gets in
the way of true connection. As we are pruned we bloom, resourced to reach out
to others. The branches of the vine are numerous and strong.
CAFOD produces much fruit thanks to the many volunteers and supporters who
listen to God's word and live in Christ. We are members of the global church
network which stretches around the world.
Let us savour the words of John, "As a branch cannot bear fruit all by
itself, unless it remains part of the vine, neither can you unless you remain
in me" as we rejoice in being an active member of a thriving community
nourished by love of God and our neighbour.
Prayer Fruitful God,
we thank you for your word and commandments which guide us to grow branches on
your tree. We thank you for Jesus the vine, pruned that all may have life to
the full. We thank you, Gardener God, that in pruning us you help us remain
fruitful in you, bringing you glory.
Amen.

I'm looking forward to another term of competitiveness around the table tennis tables! You do not need to wear any special clothing for this club (if you have your own bat you may bring it). Please bring all your things with you and meet me at the bench near the dismissal area at the front of the school.

Please may you bring in props for your fun year book pictures by Thursday 25 April. This can be feather boas, moustaches, funny glasses, hats... the list is endless! Use your imagination to make it as fun as possible.
In the life of Jesus, we can get an understanding of why he used the word 'shepherd' to describe himself.
He cared about people, listened to them, gave them food and drink, helped them get better when they were ill, and was willing to give up his life and die for them.
Prayer
God of all people, you have given us a reliable and caring guide, in Jesus, our good shepherd. May the message of his good news help us to hear his voice speaking to us today. May we recognise his voice in the cry of all those in need. Amen.
Tomorrow, Rounders Hobby will be meeting in my classroom (UPP next to the Science Room) so we can check the register and watch some examples of Rounders. Please bring in your PE kit and trainers to change into during afternoon break and don't forget your water bottles.
Please get changed during afternoon break and have your snacks whilst waiting outside of my room (UPP next to the Science Room) at the end of the day. I will be with you as soon as I have dismissed my class.
